Psychotherapist, Counselor, Grief Counselor, Life Coach
I spent the first part of my career as a teacher - teaching individuals from age 2 to adults in college. I also developed and ran an innovative program for pre-school children at Queens College in Charlotte, that focused on helping them not only have fun together but also to grow socially, emotionally, physically and mentally. That is where I learned a lot about people and what having fun and life is all about!
More recently, since 1990, I have been in private practice as a counselor - helping adults, children and families deal with some of life's challenges in order to have healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives.
I believe that we live in a very rushed, disconnected world with an emphasis on everything but connecting with the people in our lives - including ourselves. I believe that this has contributed to the breakdown of relationships, marriages, families, work settings and our own peace of mind. I am convinced that this trend can be reversed by individuals, groups and families who are interested.
Fortunately, there is a growing awareness of the results of this increased pace and disconnection that results. More people are looking for ways to slow down and reconnect.
If you are one of these people, I would like to help. Please call 616-901-2520 to set up an appointment. I have an office in Weaverville, North Carolina where I offer in person, phone, and online sessions.
